The Forthspring Inter Community Group was incorporated as a Company limited by guarantee in 1996. Forthspring began operations from the newly refurbished premises of the Springfield Road Methodist Church in September 1997, with its official opening on 17 October 1997.
The group was formed by a partnership of four groups:
  • Cornerstone Community
  • Currach Community
  • Springfield Road Methodist Church
  • Mid Spring Residents Association (MISRA)

The partnership between these four groups had developed over a period of years.
All parties involved were and are committed to working in a cross community basis to build relationships
of trust and understanding in what is a highly segregated and sectarian interface.
